"Calling The Called"
9:30am - 11:00am

Christianity Today recently reported that one out of four pastors intends to retire by 2030. This impending transition is expected to intensify the demand for the next generation of church leaders. CIY, with a longstanding commitment to inspiring young people for various forms of Kingdom Work, is currently channeling focused energy into facilitating the transition from decision moments to active ministry roles for today's youth. Drawing on fresh data and personal accounts from church leaders, CIY will provide insights into the five crucial steps your church must take to effectively call and empower the called.

"The Open Generation"
12:00pm - 1:00pm

As Gen Z steps into young adulthood in the upcoming decade, the future of your church must evolve to meet their needs and perspectives. Despite navigating their formative years amidst a pandemic and the expansive digital landscape, research indicates a hopeful and inquisitive cohort that holds deep respect for the teachings of the Bible and maintains openness to the identity Jesus professes. Drawing insights from Barna’s Open Generation research, CIY will present these findings in an engaging and optimistic manner. Within the intricate landscape of the digital age, these young individuals are crafting a distinctive bond with their spirituality, constructing an authentic narrative that transcends conventional boundaries.

Eric Epperson is the Vice President of Story at Christ in Youth (CIY). For over 15 years, he has helped CIY create moments that call young people to Kingdom work. Eric holds a BA from Ozark Christian College and a Master of Arts from the University of Oklahoma.
